A bridge building and storytelling series from The Foundry at Hudson, each Out of Your Silo Supper brings together local community members who might come from different social circles. These groups enjoy an evening of shared food, personal stories, and thoughtful connection with the goal of turning strangers into neighbors.
Central to the night are two storytellers who take the stage to share parallel personal narratives—hearing each other’s stories for the first time live, right alongside the audience. It’s a rare opportunity to watch two people open up and get to know each other in front of their friends, families, and peers.
With poetry, music, and conversation, the evening encourages everyone at the table to connect a little more deeply than they might during a typical night out—part community supper, part theatrical event, and all about building connection.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. Stay tuned for the next Out of Your Silo Supper!
About the Process
Conceived by The Foundry at Hudson team and directed by Producing Director Ivey Lowe, Out of Your Silo Suppers center on the power of storytelling to bridge divides.
Each storyteller develops their narratives through a guided rehearsal process with Ivey—pulling from memories and crafting parallel stories that echo one another in theme or spirit. The storytellers don’t hear each other’s story until the night of the event, creating a shared moment of real-time discovery for both presenters and audience alike. Friends, family, and neighbors witness something rare: connection unfolding live.
